Tefillah Policy
נוהלתפילה
Perhaps more than anything else, the way we conduct ourselves during tefillah is an indication of our religious persona. 像这样, tefillah is an important part of our school day, a requirement for all students and an opportunity to strengthen your relationship with G-d.
Please follow the guidelines listed below to help make tefillah meaningful:
- Tefillah begins at 8:05 AM.
- You are expected to be at tefillah on time, ready to participate. All students who travel in car pools must ensure that they leave their communities on time so they can arrive at school on time for services.
- During tefillah, cell phones must be put away, and no food or drink is allowed.
迟到:
A student who arrives to tefillah after 8:05 AM is considered tardy.
- If a student is tardy three times in a quarter, an e-mail will be sent to the parents.
- After the fifth tardy in a quarter, a student will receive a 7:30 AM detention.
- After the seventh tardy in a quarter, a student will receive consecutive 7:30 AM detentions.
- After the ninth tardy in a quarter, a student will receive consecutive 6:25 AM detentions at K.I.N.S. or 7:30 detentions (dependent upon time of lateness).
- After the tenth tardy in a quarter, a student will receive an in-school suspension.
缺席:
A student who arrives to tefillah after 8:25 AM is considered absent.
- If a student is absent three times in a quarter, an e-mail will be sent to the parents.
- After the fourth absence in a quarter, a student will receive a 7:30 AM detention.
- After the sixth absence in a quarter, a student will receive a 6:25 AM detention at K.I.N.S.
- After the seventh absence in a quarter, a student will receive an in-school suspension.
Students chronically late or absent will be ineligible for participation in school programs such as team sports, Senior leaders, and the Torah Chapter of the National Honor Society, and may face suspension from the school. In excess of two tardies or two absences from the 7:15 AM Friday minyan is cause for dismissal from the seminar class. Parents or students are responsible to inform the office of absences or tardies due to family occasions or medical reasons. Special circumstances will be considered by the administration.
